Our olive pomace charcoal range is made from the waste product of olive oil production, which is called 'Olive Pomace'. There are millions of tonnes of olive oil produced worldwide each year and it is estimated global production will reach record highs in 2018. There is even more waste 'Olive Pomace' generated by the production of olive oil and this waste either goes to landfill and is also used as a fuel in various parts of the world. 
In landfill the waste is toxic for the surrounding soil as it is highly acidic.
Whilst the consumption and production of olive oil increases worldwide due to it's popularity and health benefits, we believe that producing charcoal from olive pomace is the most beneficial way of using this renewable biomass material and achieve great results as a product which can displace lumpwood charcoal and household coal products in the commercial and domestic markets.
